planting seeds

Can you feel the change in the air? Spring is coming! Growth! Rebirth! Mud! Okay, maybe you're not excited about the mud part, but whatever...the point is, things are happening, slowly but surely. Before moving forward, it makes sense to look back a bit...so here's a brief recap!

On Saturday, February 10th, I had my 27th Brushstrokes with Impact (tm) "Paint-a-Thon"! This one was called SOUPER BOWL III, and once again, I was set up at the Tontine Mall in Brunswick, just outside of Indrani's.

...the beginning...

"Seeds Of Love" : finished!

Eight hours flew by, and thanks to everyone's support, together we were able to raise $100 for Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program's "Backpack Program"! I had a lot of fun painting "Seeds of Love," and I'm thrilled to announce that I have a new collector in a new state: Hollylane in North Carolina, thank you for giving my work a good home! Check out this beautiful little still life:

still life with love!

This made me laugh: some of you may remember that my dear friend, the lovely and talented Rebecca Boothby Conley, is a videographer who has her own business and also works for Maine Public. This past summer, Rebecca visited me and got some shots in my studio for a Maine Public spot she was working on. Since then, the spot has been making the rounds: I went to my art group last week, and one of the "regulars" looked at me, rolled her eyes, and in an exhausted voice, said “I see you on TV...ALL...the...time.” Talk about a sentence I never thought I would ever hear!

hello, surreal...

In case you didn't remember, I still have a bi-weekly blog for Curtis Memorial Library...here's a link to my most recent post! Other things are definitely brewing, but I feel like it's a little too early to talk about them here...so please stay tuned!
